math is for me too!

The Math is for Me Too! Initiative is a series of forthcoming books designed to inspire young girls to persevere in their journey through mathematics in school. The first book of the series will focus on my own experiences in mathematics spaces which molded my love and perseverance in the discipline. Some of those experiences were positive and some were negative. Nonetheless, the impact is everlasting.

About Us

This initiative was birthed out of a desire for others to recognize that women (girls) of color should be afforded the same opportunities to learn about mathematics and S.T.E.A.M. as any other people group. In addition to helping to eliminate the stigma of “math is hard”, we also aim to eliminate the notion that “girls are not good at math”.

Who?

These books are meant to inspire girls of color to take an interest in mathematics and to open the eyes of others about our genius.

Why?

Having representation which reflects you is important to the psyche. Girls and women of color need to be represented.

Goal

Create hope in an area that has been underrepresented for far too long.
